Excessive alcohol abuse for example alters the nervous system, eventually removing any form of relief and rendering us even more unconscious. T.V. is just as addictive and perhaps even more dangerous if you take the propaganda element into account. People become extremely suggestive while in this numb state and television is the ultimate tool for delivering propaganda, not to mention the unhealthiness of switching off the brain and shutting down the body physically. Fortunately if we can grip true awareness then addiction is not a problem. Such pass times remain however a doorway to the region between sleep and function mode where we are shut off from further development.
